An experienced Chef is required for a 4-week booking with clients at their private villa on the Balearic island of Menorca. Accommodation is provided and you will have the support of an on-site Housekeeper to assist you with service.
The Chef must have plenty of ideas for delicious summer menus, including simple breakfast (eggs, cured meat and fruit platters, homemade muesli and freshly baked bread and pastries from the local bakery), poolside BBQ’s, light lunches, beach hampers and formal dinners when the Principals are entertaining.
A member of the family is a diagnosed coeliac, therefore applicants must have plenty of experience cooking gluten free alternatives and be highly-organised at all times to avoid any level of contamination (separate butter knives, use the grill not a toaster for gluten free toast, use gluten free flour to thicken sauces etc).
Favourites of the family are fresh fish platters (a sensational fish market is located 10 minutes drive from the villa), grilled lobster, Mediterranean salads, seafood paella, pork fillet wrapped in Parma ham, baked goats cheese with honey, whole fish/catch of the day, Menorcan ‘tomato bread’ with plenty of olive oil, albondigas (meatballs in a rich tomato sauce) and grilled squid.
A car is available for work use and provisioning.
