This role, working under the guidance of the Head Butler, requires a refined professional with formal training, superb service standards, and a deep understanding of high‑level private service.
Responsibilities
Service Delivery & Guest Experience
- Provide both formal and informal butler service to the highest standards of private households.
- Anticipate the needs of the Principals and their guests, ensuring seamless, personalised service at all times.
- Support daily routines, private dining, and high‑profile occasions with impeccable attention to detail.
- Maintain a consistent service style across all properties, adapting to location and context.
Food & Beverage Excellence
- Deliver fine dining service, including silver service when required.
- Prepare, set, and clear tables to exceptional standards aligned with household preferences.
- Serve food and beverages with precision, timing, and refined etiquette.
- Assist with wine service, including presentation, decanting, and pairing guidance.
Wine & Beverage Stewardship
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of wines, regions, vintages, and food pairings.
- Assist with the organisation and upkeep of the wine cellar.
- Ensure correct storage, handling, and rotation of wines and beverages.
- Support stock control and inventory management.
Household Operations
- Work collaboratively with the Head Butler and wider household team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist with event preparation, service, and breakdown for formal and informal gatherings.
- Maintain service areas, pantries, and dining spaces to the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation.
- Support packing, unpacking, and logistical arrangements during travel.
Travel & Multi‑Residence Support
- Accompany the Principals to international residences as required.
- Ensure service standards remain consistent across all locations.
- Assist in preparing properties ahead of arrivals to ensure readiness and flawless presentation.
Key requirements
- Proven experience as a Butler within a UHNW household or luxury hospitality environment.
- Formally trained in butlering, hospitality, or private service, with demonstrably high service standards.
- Strong understanding of formal service, etiquette, and household protocol.
- Solid knowledge of wines, beverages, and fine dining service.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Professional, discreet, and committed to delivering outstanding service.
- Flexible and willing to travel internationally at short notice.
