DBS Processing Guide

To register with The Staff Directory, all candidates must hold a valid DBS certificate.

To assist you with obtaining or refreshing an existing DBS certificate, we have partnered with established DBS provider, Onlinedbs who will process the right level of criminal record check depending on the profession of each applicant.

Candidates applying for positions within a childcare setting are strictly required to apply for an Enhanced DBS certificate. Candidates wishing to apply for all other positions should apply for a Basic DBS certificate.

When you are ready to begin your application, please contact the agency and we will provide you with the details you will require to process your certificate, including; a link to get started, our organisation pin code and a unique password.

If you would like the agency to handle your application on your behalf, please let us know (an admin fee of £22.00 + VAT will apply.)

Basic DBS Certificate £32.00
Enhanced DBS Certificate £49.00
Automatic annual renewal £13.00 per year (recommended)

Those applying for an Enhanced DBS certificate must provide the agency with three forms of ID documents, as we are legally required to verify them before your DBS certificate can be issued. Please email three of the below documents to office@thestaffdirectory when you begin your application.

The following documents must be provided by applicants applying for an Enhanced DBS only.

Group 1 – Applicants must provide one of the following:

  1. Passport/ID card
  2. Current driving license
  3. Birth certificate
  4. Adoption certificate
  5. Biometric residence permit

Group 2Applicants must provide two of the following:

  1. Mortgage statement
  2. Bank or building society statement
  3. Credit card statement
  4. Council tax statement
  5. Pension statement
  6. EU National Identity card
  7. Irish Passport card
  8. Utility bill
  9. Council tax bill
  10. HM Forces ID card
  11. Firearms licence

Once you have been issued with a DBS certificate, it is valid for 3 years, although many clients will ask that you refresh your DBS every 12 months.

If you have any questions regarding an active DBS application please call Onlinedbs directly on 0292 060 2356 (you will need our organisation code and your password). They will then review the status of your application and assist you with any issues.
