An appropriate salary for a Domestic Couple will ultimately depend on the skills and experience of your chosen candidates. However, you can expect an average annual wage of £70,000.00-£100,000.00+. Those with professional Chef experience will typically command a greater salary.

A suitable salary can be established once we have discussed your requirements in detail, along with any information regarding staff accommodation for Live-in positions.

The primary location of the role will also be a consideration when negotiating salary. Positions that are based overseas, within Central London or roles that require frequent travel may require a higher salary.

The role of a Domestic Couple

An experienced Domestic Couple is responsible for the running of a private estate, including housekeeping, cooking, all general maintenance, driving and gardening. Only estates with extensive grounds, lakes, orchards, or conservation areas for wildlife will require an experienced Estate Manager and additional trained Groundsmen.

• Housekeeping & laundry duties
• Organising dry cleaning for delicate garments
• Cooking – the style of food can vary from nutritious family meals, such as shepherds pie, casseroles, salads, soups, roasts, steaks, steamed fish etc, through to fine dining style dishes created by a professional Chef. Candidates who are registered with us as a Domestic Couple may have a Chef background within restaurants, onboard yachts or luxury chalets.
• Maintenance – This includes general interior and exterior maintenance tasks. Some Domestic Couples possess qualifications and previous experience working with electrics, plumbing, gardening or construction trades.
• Driving – A Domestic Couple can see to any required driving duties such as office, school or airport runs.
• Shopping & errands – The Domestic Couple will see to all grocery shopping and errand running for the household.
• Security – A Live-in Domestic Couple are an additional level of security, particularly when a household is not in residence. Having someone on-site in the absence of an employer can offer huge peace of mind while a household are travelling.
• Pet care & Pet sitting – A Domestic Couple will typically be responsible for the care of household pets, such as dog walking and feeding. They also take care of any pets whilst a household is travelling.
