Chef & Nanny/Housekeeper Couple

Ideal applicants will have basic French conversation skills and hold a clean driving licence. EU passport holders are preferred however a work visa can be arranged.

Although this is a ‘live-in position’, staff do not live on-site. A staff apartment will be arranged for you nearby.

Cooking: You are required to cater for the household and any guests. Preferred cuisines include; Mediterranean dishes, salads, grains, fresh fruit/vegetables, sushi & sashimi, Indian, Japanese, Thai. Most meals are vegetarian with meat served occasionally. The family are keen cooks and enjoy a variety of worldwide cuisine with an emphasis on a healthy and balanced diet.

Housekeeping: General housekeeping & laundry duties (local housekeepers also in place)

Childcare: Care of G3, B8, nursery duties

Pets/allergy info: 2 large dogs & 2 cats

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include the following:

• Catering for family and guests (mostly vegetarian diet)
• Shopping using local suppliers and food markets
• Housekeeping & laundry
• Childcare (sole charge and shared care expected)
• General security/gatekeeping
• Household management – Simple admin, appointments, liaising with external contractors
• House sitting/pet sitting when the Principals travel

Key requirements

To be suitable for this role, you must be/have:

• Conversational French a bonus
• Clean driving licence
• Previous private chef experience preferred
• Friendly, easy-going yet professional approach
• Excellent personal presentation
• This role is based approx 1 hour from central Bordeaux (applicants must enjoy a rural lifestyle)
