Ex-Yachtie/Housekeeper (Live-in) – Hampshire
Clients in Hampshire are looking for an experienced Housekeeper to staff their country estate. The role is open to those looking for a temporary or permanent role. Ideal candidates will have yacht experience. The Housekeeper will work alongside the present team comprising gardeners, a chef, PA, handyman and housekeepers.
The property is a large 14-bedroom country residence on the borders of Hampshire and Berkshire.
The family, who have two children entertain with varying degrees of formality on a regular basis.
Days/Hours of work: 5 days per week, including weekends when the family are in residence. The staff will work split shifts and longer days to cover evening turndown, dinners, and evening entertaining.
8.00am-4:30pm when the family are not in residence.
Accommodation: Separate 2-bedroom cottage or 3-bedroom duplex flat.
Salary: Negotiable according to experience
Start date: Flexible
Responsibilities
Housekeeping duties, not limited to:
- All hands-on housekeeping duties
- Leading the team of housekeepers
- Turning house round including changing bed linen, laundry & ironing
- Implementing cleaning schedules and maintenance
- Staff training & rotas
- Knowledge of antiques/fine finishes & eco methods of cleaning
- Stock & maintain kitchen and cleaning supplies
- Liaising with Principals and estate office re entertaining and events
- Turn down service
- FOH & serving duties
- Silver/formal china care
- Wardrobe care, simple repairs
- Pet care
- Gatekeeping
Key requirements
- Strong proven experience in similar roles essential
- Team players
- Flexible with a hands-on ‘can do’ optimistic attitude
- Enhanced DBS
- Take pride in their work
- Clean driving licence
- Dog friendly
- Non- smokers
- We are looking for a candidate with strong experience in a comparable role
- Preferred candidates will have experience working within the yachting industry, however, this is not essential
