Governess

Working Hours:  Monday-Saturday or Sunday – Friday.

Working times: 15:00-21:00, Monday – Friday, Saturday or Sunday working times TBC

Accommodation: Double bedroom with an en-suite which is located on the top floor of a large family home.

The child: 9 years old. Loves ballet, ice-skating, piano and swimming. Attends independent school in Hampstead

The Family:

• 6 members: husband, wife, 4 children (18, 16, 9 and 6)
• Fully staffed semi-formal residence (chef, security, Chauffeur, nanny for the 6 year old boy, Private PA)
• The family travel during school holidays and they expect the governess to travel with them to Dubai, South of France, USA, etc. Accommodation will be provided.
• English and Russian spoken by staff and family

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the child follows a routine that allows for homework and educational activities
• Teaches specialised subjects, such as a language, musical instrument, sport
• Teach manners, etiquette and the correct code of conduct
• Ensure the child’s timetable is adequate and allows for the day to run smoothly
• Gatekeeper between school and parents
• Liaising with the parents, other tutors, regarding objectives, progress and development
• Prepare children for exams and school assessments
• Encourage children to behave appropriately and complete their studies
• Following the child’s curriculum and tutoring appropriate subjects such as English and Maths
• Fostering the child’s educational, social, and creative development
• Organising outside activities such as educational outings; museums, art galleries, theatre visits and sporting activities
• Playing with the child

Key requirements

• A minimum of 5 years experience
• A qualified Governess with a teaching background or higher childcare education
• A minimum of 3 years professional childcare or teaching experience
• Teaches Music, Arts, Sports or Languages
• Must be double vaccinated due to travel restrictions
