House Manager (yachtie required)

We are looking for an experienced Yacht Stewardess for a House Manager position in Marylebone. The Principal has a large 5-storey London townhouse, a countryside estate and a superyacht. Suitable candidates will be looking for a hands-on role involving a varied remit.

The role requires the House Manager to work a 5-day week unless the Principal has his children to stay or is entertaining guests over the weekend.

The chosen applicant must hold a driving licence as travel between UK residences is expected.

This is a special opportunity for a candidate with a yachting background who is ready to take on the responsibility of a House Manager position in London. You will be overseeing external contractors, organising maintenance and repairs, and arranging additional staff for busy periods and events.

From day to day, you will be looking after just one Principal.

The client is very keen to offer the House Manager the opportunity to develop their skillset and is happy to arrange courses such as cooking courses, floristry, wine training etc.

The ideal candidate will be switched on, detail-oriented and able to work independently.

The position offers live-in accommodation should the selected candidate require it, partners welcome (studio apartment).

The Principal travels frequently and is typically in London 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Household management
  • Overseeing contractors
  • Overseeing utilities and arranging repairs/maintenance
  • Housekeeping (typically 1 Principal in res)
  • Cooking (simple, healthy dishes)
  • Occasional PA support (assisting the Principal’s EA with booking holidays and researching itineraries/activities etc)
  • Booking additional staff when required (housekeepers, chefs, waiting staff etc)
  • Liaising with EA, driver, pilots etc
  • Mon-Fri unless required at the weekend

Key requirements

  • Yacht Stewardess experience
  • Confident to take on a management role of a large London residence
  • Confident driver
  • Simple family cooking ability (cooking courses provided)
  • A sharp eye for detail
  • Self-starter, able to manage your time effectively
  • Suitable candidates will be looking to progress within the private staff industry and undertake a senior role with responsibility
