Houseman/Driver – Belgravia

You will work alongside 3 other gentlemen within the household team, both with an open and relaxed nature. There is a well-established existing team consisting of a driver, maintenance men, housekeepers, chef, and a PA.

This is a role for a candidate with a broad skill set as you will take on some butler duties, serving at some mealtimes and helping occasionally at family events, driving the principals when they are in London to restaurants, events etc in addition to general houseman duties.

You will need to have experience driving in London, ideally on long-wheelbase luxury vehicles – a driving trial will be a part of the interview process.

You may be asked to run errands, change a light bulb – so you need to be a quick on your feet kind of person who enjoys a busy household.

Occasional travel will be required, for no more than 2 weeks at a time – mainly within the United Kingdom.

Hours of work

5 days a week with Wednesday and Thursday – days off – Flexibility is key, so when Principles are in residence you may be required 6 days, overtime will be returned in lieu.

The household team are established, relaxed and easy going – you need to have a personable approach and a good sense of humour. Salary & Benefits

£35-45K depending on experience. Good package including discretionary bonus, annual leave, and excellent level of private healthcare.

Accommodation 

Live-in with own bedroom, bathroom, use of large staff kitchen. (Most meals are provided and cooked by the chef)

Responsibilities

• Valet duties – keeping cars clean and stocked, informing vehicle manager when items such as tyres/oil etc need changing
• Running errands – for Principals/PA/Chef/Family
• Running errands/delivering gifts/collecting items from stores/ad-hoc grocery shopping
• Overseeing and shadowing contractors and tradesmen on site
• Updating inventories/stocktaking
• Researching and purchasing items for the household when requested
• Completing routine inspection of the house and garden
• Ensuring that works carried out in the house are completed and to a high standard Liaising with builders, decorators, gardeners etc
• Help with the heavier household duties, keeping storage organised
