LONDON BASED GOVERNESS/TUTOR – ROTATIONAL

£75k + £85k|MAYFAIR|Permanent Live-out

3 days on / 3 days off rotation (Complementing a nanny rota of one week on / one week off)

A highly educated and polished Governess is sought for a UHNW family residing in London. The role centres on the academic and developmental support of three children under the age of 10 with a strong emphasis on structured learning, school preparation, and enrichment. The ideal candidate will possess a formal teaching background and demonstrate deep familiarity with the UK’s elite private school landscape, offering guidance to a family navigating the admissions process and broader educational system. Based from the family home in Mayfair you will compliment an existing team of childcare professionals in a newly appointed role.

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Educational Support & Planning
Provide structured academic support across core subjects, tailored to each child’s age and ability
Set and monitor educational goals, ensuring consistent progress and engagement
Organise afterschool tutoring, academic activities, and enrichment opportunities
Liaise with external tutors and educational specialists as needed

School Advisory & Admissions Guidance
Advise the family on top-tier London and UK private schools, including admissions timelines, curriculum differences
Assist with school applications, interview preparation, and assessments
Provide ongoing support in adapting to the British schooling system

Rota & Household Coordination
Work in harmony with the nanny team and broader household staff
Ensure seamless transitions between rota shifts, maintaining continuity in academic routines
Support the children’s daily schedules, including school pick-ups, homework supervision, and extracurricular activities

Key requirements

Degree-qualified with a strong academic or teaching background
Extensive knowledge of London’s independent schools and UK private education
Experience working within UHNW households or similar high-standard environments
Discreet, professional, and confident in liaising with principals and external educators
Warm, engaging, and able to foster a love of learning in young children
Fluent English speaker essential additional languages a plus
