Part-time Housekeeper – Barnes
A single gentleman is recruiting an experienced part-time Housekeeper for his new 3 bedroom home in Barnes. This role would suit an applicant who enjoys setting up a new property and getting things organised. We expect initial hours to be more extensive as you get the property set up. Following this, the client would like you to visit 4 hours per day, three to four times a week. Hours can be very flexible.
The role requires a highly organised housekeeper to see to all laundry, housekeeping and simple meal preparation when required. The client does not have any dietary requirements to consider and enjoys simple classic British dishes (cottage pie, casseroles and stews, roast chicken etc). Only basic family cooking skills are needed, the client does not require a candidate with chef skills.
The principal has a PA who can be contacted when needed for any logistical support or establishing the principal’s itinerary for the week. She will let you know if the principal is expected to travel or not be in residence that week for dinner.
This position would suit an applicant who enjoys managing their own workload ensuring a smoothly-run household. The client is flexible with the hours you visit and can work around other part-time clients you may already be committed to.
Responsibilities
- Shopping
- Running errands (post office, dry cleaners etc)
- Preparing simple meals to be left in the fridge/freezer
- Housekeeper

- Initial weeks: Setting up the property, organising cupboards, wardrobes etc
Key requirements
- Previous experience as a Professional Housekeeper
- A friendly and approachable manner
- Naturally organised and good with time management
- Strong laundry and housekeeping knowledge
- Simple cooking ability (cooking as required)
- Background check
- Supporting verifiable references
